Mother & Child Care:

This 3 month course is provided to class 10th pass women who can work along with dieticians / nutritionists in various sectors or in rural areas or associate with public and private development projects and help in creating awareness about early childhood and maternal care. This course is offered to women from poor economic background free of cost, however is also available for women in general categories at a subsidized rate.

With this course, RPF aims at providing women practical training and skills needed to pursue an occupation straightaway converting them into viable assets for employment. Many health workers are required in development projects who can go door to door to assess health profile in villages and backward areas. RPF trains them about basic health care for mother and child, before and after birth care including taking care of new born baby, assessment of growth and development of a child, awareness on breastfeeding, nutrition, sanitation, immunization and taking care of sick children during illness like diarrhoea and flu. RPF aims to organise training programmes on mother and child health care practices for the Shishu Bikas Kendra facilitators and Anganwadi workers in near future.

In order to provide job-oriented skills to women through this course, greater emphasis has been placed on, On the Job Training. The entire work relating to practicals / On the job training is conducted in workshops / organisations /industries which is an essential component of this course to make them learn art of communication. On the Job Training with RPF programmes shall be directly under the supervision of nutritionist working with RPF. Participants will be assessed regularly on their one to one session as well as group session skills in various health talks conducted by RPF leading them to certification.
